Ukraine's situation at the front is getting tougher

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Saturday that the situation on the front lines in the east of the country was getting tougher and Russia was throwing more and more troops into battle. The Kremlin has been pushing for a significant battlefield victory after months of setbacks, with Russian forces trying to close grip on the town of Bakhmut and fighting for control of a nearby major supply route for Ukrainian forces. Russian troops are also trying to capture the coal mining city of Vuhledar, some 120 kilometers (75 miles) southwest of Bakhmut, also in the eastern region of Donetsk. "I've often had to say the situation at the front is tough, and is getting tougher, and it's that time again. ... Oil prices edge higher as talks up China demand

Oil prices inched up in early trade on Monday after falling around 8% last week to more than three-week lows as jitters over major economies outweighed signs of a demand recovery in China, the world's top oil importer. While recession fears dominated the market last week, on Sunday International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol highlighted that China's recovery remains a key driver for oil prices. The IEA expects half of global oil demand growth this year will come from China, where Birol said jet fuel demand was surging. He said depending on how strong that recovery is, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and allies, together called OPEC+, may have to reassess their decision to cut output by 2 million barrels per day through 2023. "If demand goes up very strongly, if the Chinese economy rebounds, then there will be a need, in my view, for the OPEC+ countries to look at their (output) policies," Birol told Reuters on the sideline...

South Korean-born Vietnamese singer Hari Won has been lambasted by critics for saying that she only hangs with “pretty” people. Won recently uploaded a photo to her Facebook page with the caption: "Based on my experience, most beautiful people don’t have hatred, they are pretty and kind. Therefore, I only hang with people who are pretty. What are your thoughts on this?" Hari Won’s post was then shared widely across a variety of social networks. Many commenters were not happy with the singer judging people based on their looks. "So, you’re saying that people only have great personalities when they are pretty? I know people who are pretty on the outside but ugly on the inside," read a comment posted by Amy Nguyen. "Don’t judge a book by its cover. That’s a basic lesson that everyone should learn. People can be kind whether they are beautiful or not pretty," Canh Pham commented. Some also defended Won, arguing that the post was based on her subjective experie...
